Our Services

This selection of case histories highlights how Fazio International's services help make each client organization more successful.

Resource Planning
A major, national trade association wanted to know if its members supported establishing a related foundation.  Fazio International created a comprehensive development plan that addressed organizational strengths, described what the members had told us they would want to see accomplished, and defined an initial goal of $10 million.  Our client's Board accepted the plan and engaged Fazio International as development counsel to help implement it.  Today, this research and education foundation has a secure funding base with an endowment of more than $22 million and a new target goal of $25 million.

Strategy to Action
Our firm worked closely with association leaders from around the world to articulate a viable strategic plan for an  international professional society.  But, the plan would only be effective if regional and subject-specific committees developed their individual annual action plans from the agreed strategies.  Fazio worked with each group to achieve consensus, to identify areas for joint programming, and to ensure that the strategic plan became an intrinsic part of all programs and projects.

Board Development

Our client's staff was fully committed to the fund-raising strategy we had proposed.  The board of directors was not quite there.  A campaign can only succeed when the volunteer board of the organization makes a philosophical and financial commitment to the development effort.  Fazio International conducted targeted board activities to bring members to consensus and to keep them involved throughout the campaign.  Board members soon understood how their involvement would enhance the organization's opportunity for program and financial success. Within six months, the board achieved a 100% participation rate.  Collectively, they pledged more than 25% of the target goal.

Friend-Raising
A key ingredient to resource development is public relations and contributor relations.  Working with Fazio International, an industry Political Action Committee (PAC) found new ways to provide meaningful involvement and recognition for its top contributors.  Overall giving to the PAC doubled in one election cycle and contributors at the top level of $5,000 continue to renew their support every year.

Motivation
A medical society wanted to improve its odds of running a successful annual giving program by focusing on the ways that staff and volunteers would need to interact over the life of the campaign.  Fazio International designed and conducted workshops for the society's internal staff and volunteers to teach them how to work together effectively.  The volunteers accepted their fund-raising assignments, accomplished them on time and wanted to keep going with new solicitation assignments.  Staff was able to communicate better with the volunteers to keep the in-house operation moving smoothly.  Over a two-year period, the society improved its annual campaign by more than 22%.

Writing & Editing
A museum client's public relations staff had little time to add fund-raising collateral materials to its calendar.  Fazio International was engaged to produce all campaign-related materials including brochures, newsletters, volunteer correspondence with prospects and contributors, key presentations to potential major contributors, annual reports and donor recognition.  The initiative was well-branded.  The museum's constituencies were kept informed throughout the campaign, and the professional "feel" of the campaign made contributors sit up and take notice.
